2020-03-31

HENT has signed an agreement with the Norwegian State Administration Authority Statsbygg, for the construction of the so-called D-block, the largest building in the new Government Quarter in Oslo. The project is worth around NOK 1 billion and is expected to start in the summer of 2021.

The project for the construction of the D-block in the Government Quarter is a so-called Interaction Contract, which means that the project is carried out with a joint Interaction Organization, in which the developer (Statsbygg), the contractor (HENT) and the consultant together participate in the development of the project. The project is expected to amount to approximately NOK 1 billion. Engineering will commence now and construction is expected to start in 2021.

In total, the building covers an area of 29,000 m2 spread over 10 floors and will house, among other things, both the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“It is very gratifying that HENT has been awarded this contract with Statsbygg. HENT conducts selective tendering and this has been a priority project. In these times of prevailing uncertainty, this is a gratifying message and strengthens HENT's already good order backlog, where the share of public customers now exceeds 60 percent," says Peter Wallin, Executive Chairman of HENT.
